在十多年前的音响圈,几乎没有人不知道这张唱片的大名。尽管从字面上它被翻译成《电子贝多芬》/《爆棚贝多芬》，不过由于其给人强烈视觉震撼的封套设计，因此也有不少乐迷称之为《戴墨镜的贝多芬》。超大的动态翻绝的低频和变幻莫测的电子合成器音色是这张唱片的录音特色，尤其是它的动态和低频表现，在当年有“杀手级”测试CD的美誉。
《电子贝多芬》一张以电子合成乐器改编贝多芬的作品，运用幽默、创意的手法。这张唱片结合了贝多芬的音乐，以及美国电子音乐演奏大师唐·多西的录音技巧和声音哲学。
唐·多西认为，如果贝多芬的时代已有了电子合成器，以贝多芬这样的傲世天才，必然会善加运用。唐·多西曾经在发烧品牌泰拉（Telarc）公司多次录制古典音乐改编曲。唐·多西（DonDorsey）于1986年发布了他的首张独奏专辑，获得了极高的赞誉。接着在1988年发行了第二张专辑，此张专辑蝉联排行榜冠军达24周之久。
贝多芬的音乐——最熟悉的还是那首《月光》，编曲中，最初持续的慢板表达出无尽的幻想，而后期的急板则热情汹涌。在这张电子乐器演奏而重新编曲的《电子贝多芬》中，最先听出来的就是《MOONLIAHTSONATA 月光奏鸣曲第三部分07》电子乐器的演奏中，急板的热情汹涌依旧，一泻如水，没有分毫拖沓。
